New ERA Chair Foodomics: Metabolomics in Food and Nutrition

The idea behind the ERA Chair FOODOMICS is to create a centre of excellence at the University of Ljubljana (UL) in the field of metabolomics in food and nutrition. The project is embedded in the framework of the ERA Chair Action in order to simultaneously strengthen the research potential of the University of Ljubljana and create a dynamic and sustainable stateof-the-art research environment. With the support of the network of existing international/regional/national partners, SMEs and stakeholders, the research results will be made fruitful and enable a transition from partial small-scale research to larger innovationdriven projects to offer and experience innovation (considering e.g. product systems and performance) defined by the needs of society. FOODOMICS aims to promote progress in science through the development of new analytical methods and the provision of measurement services for plants, animals and humans. Activities include both profiling (analysis of all measurable analytes to identify differences) and targeted analysis (quantification of a selected group of analytes).
