Advanced Mass Spectrometry Methods for Addressing Environmental Challenges in Polymeric Materials and Particulates Analysis
Synthetic polymers are found everywhere in daily life. We benefit from their technical properties in multiple applications such as electronics, clothing, food science, and packaging. As environmental awareness rises, the demand for sustainable alternatives has accelerated the development of new bio-based polymers. One such material, polyethylene furanoate (PEF), has received attention in the past several years for its excellent properties and lower impact to the greenhouse emissions compared to traditional synthetic polymers. Emerging PEF-based co-polymeric materials hold promise as eco-friendly replacements for conventional packaging polymers, offering comparable or superior performance.
