Consumption and use of food additives and food flavourings
Urška Blaznik obtained her PhD in Biomedicine at the Medical Faculty, University of Ljubljana. She is employed at the National Institute of Public Health, Environmental Health Center as a senior researcher on food safety, nutrition and public health. Her research focuses on exposure assessment to chemical contaminants in food, food consumption and nutritional intake at the population level, food reformulation, and the evaluation of public health measures related to diet. She is active in European and national research projects and a member of the national research programme “Nutrition and Public Health”. She is also a member of several forums, working groups and boards, including the Advisory Forum of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the National Food Reformulation Working Group at the Ministry of Health and the National Board for Food Safety at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food.
