Majda Širca

Majda Širca was born on 20 April 1953 in Postojna. Her permanent residence is Gregorčičeva 13a, Ljubljana. She attended primary school in Štanjel and Dutovlje, and grammar school in Postojna. She graduated in history of art from the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana. After having worked at the Association of Cultural Organisations, she was employed by RTV Slovenija, where she worked as a journalist, editor of the cultural programme and editor of the documentary and art programme; she was also the author of more than sixty documentary series entitled Povečava. She is the author of a number of texts in the area of film, audiovisual culture and humanities, which have been published in various books and magazines. She has received a number of awards in recognition of her work as a journalist and her artistic achievements in the field of electronic media.
