This paper explores the possibility of extending Processbased models with Qualitative differential equations. Process-based modeling is a modeling technique that uses two-level approach for modeling dynamical systems. It models systems on a purely qualitative level in terms of entities and processes that involve those entities on one hand, and a quantitative level on which all entities and processes are given a quantitative formulation which is that automatically translated into a set of ordinary differential equations. This paper aims to illustrate that this formalism can be extended with an intermediate level of modeling which consists of qualitative equations.
