Technology adoption becomes more likely when research is complemented by measures that address also non-technolgical challenges. This speech starts by presenting 10 top recommendations put forward to decision makers in academia, industry and governments with regard to policies on audio-visual search engines. Further it presents some trends that are likely to influence the search market. Two specific cases will be analysed in more detail, namely mobile search and enterprise search.
