Truly individualized systems medicine: a hands-on tutorial where participants will resolve paradoxes by using virtual twin/digital-me

Misaligned signal transduction, due to oncogenic or other mutations can contribute to disease. By using a preexisting mirror image model of the MAP kinase pathway, the participants will show that cancer may be a network disease. They will continue to show what the origin may be of oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes, and how the effects of drugs may differ between individual patients. They will examine the potential of dual drugging and of matching drugs with genotype of tumor and patient. Use will be made of the web-based live model repository JWS-online (http://jjj.bio.vu.nl/index.html).
