The Internet of Education: what role for education research?

The challenges facing education can only be solved with the help of computer science. But perhaps we haven't yet been clear enough about what the problems are that we hope CS can solve. And reciprocally, perhaps CS could benefit from the findings of several decades of education research. In this presentation, I will point to examples of productive outcomes from crossing the boundaries between the disciplines. In fact, some of the most important results about learning and teaching stem from work in the field of technology-enhanced learning, and these provide useful points of contact for the mutual benefit of our disciplines.
