Simples mean field models of evolution in presence of selection will be discussed. The effect of selection is to modify the statistical properties of genealogical trees: while in absence of selection, the trees are randomly distributed as in Kingman's coalescent, their statistics, in presence of selection, are very reminisecent of Parisi's theory of mean field spin glasses.
