Raziskovalcem na mariborski fakulteti za elektrotehniko, računalništvo in informatiko je uspelo razviti izjemno natančen algoritem za razpoznavo objektov. Z njimi lahko v podatkih iz laserskih merilnikov razpoznajo stavbe, teren in celo posamezna drevesa. Trenutno so njihovi algoritmi najnatančnejši na svetu.
