Probably not. It is true that there are more cells in our body than stars in galaxy and each of them has its own faith and role in the body's homeostasis. When damaged they must be replaced. There are more than 200 different terminally differentiated types of cells and all are developed from stem cells. When we are young and healthy these processes work well afterwards as we age the stem cells become senescent and ultimately die. It was proved that cultivated cells from young healthy donors ameliorate aging frailty. Today science can help with ex vivo expansion of cultivated cells, manipulation of their genomes and direct transplantation and migration to different tissues. These new therapies are expensive – 1g of ex vivo cultivated cells costs 30.000 Euros. If we would like to grow 70kg biomass the expenses are expanding to Universe. New cancer cell therapies are already reaching the sky with estimates of between $0.5 and 1.5M per patient.
