Xiaodong Wu

Dr. Wu is currently an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Electrical & Computer Engineering and Radiation Oncology at the University of Iowa. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in August 2002, and his M.S. and B.S. degrees both in Computer Science from Peking University, China, in 1995 and 1992, respectively. His research interests are primarily in biomedical computing and computer algorithms, with a particular emphasis on the development and implementation of efficient algorithms for solving challenging problems arising in computer-assisted medical diagnosis and treatment, biomedical image analysis, and bioinformatics. Dr. Wu's research has been supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Institute of Health (NIH), the American Cancer Society, and the University of Iowa. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award and the NIH K25 Career Development Award.
