Xavier Anguera Miro

Xavier Anguera Xavier Anguera Miro (Ing. [MS]. 2001 UPC University, Dr. [PhD] 2006 UPC University, with a thesis titled ”Robust Speaker Diarization for Meetings”. After graduating from his Masters he worked until 2003 for Panasonic Speech Technology Laboratory in Santa Barbara California, where he developed a Spanish TTS system and did research on speaker recognition. At the end of 2003 Dr. Anguera started a PhD program in the Department of Signal Theory and Communications of the UPC, working on speaker diarization. From September 2004 until September 2006 he was visiting ICSI where he worked on speaker diarization for meetings and participated in several NIST RT evaluations. He is currently with Telefónica Research pursuing research on multimedia information retrieval in the scientific group lead by Nuria Oliver. His interests cover the areas of speaker recognition technologies and automatic indexing of audio-visual data.
