Scientific Interest Monte Carlo event generators are computer programs that attempt to simulate from first principals and phenomenological models the complex structure of particle beam collisions at high energies. They are workhorses for the experiments, used to relate the observed data to theoretical models. I am one of the primary authors of the Pythia Monte Carlo. I develop this and similar tools as a service to the experiments and for personal research in Run2 and for the upcoming LHC era. I became a member of CMS in 2008.
