HONG RICHANG （洪日昌）is a Research Fellow in School of Computing, National University of Singapore. He received his PhD degree in July 2008 from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). His current research interests inwclude multimedia question answering, social media network mining and content based image/video retrieval. From Feb. 2006 to Jun. 2006, he worked as a research intern in Web Search and Data Mining group at Microsoft Research Asia. His Ph.D thesis is "Research on Multi-source Image Fusion and Its Application". After joining the group under Prof. Chua Tat-Seng, he changed his research field to multimedia.
