Fátima Poças is Head of the Packaging department of the Biotechnology College of the Portuguese Catholic University since 1996. She is BSc. in Chemical Eng, (Porto University) MSc. in Packaging (Michigan State University) and PhD in Biotechnology - Food Science and Engineering (Portuguese Catholic University). Her work within the department focus on: selection and optimisation of packaging materials and systems for foods and beverages, evaluation of materials and systems performance and characterization of physic-mechanical and barrier properties, migration of additives and other components of packaging, consumer exposure to packaging migrants and troubleshooting in food-packaging systems.
