Jorge Frascara

Jorge Frascara is Professor Emeritus of the University of Alberta, Canada, where he was Chair of the Art and Design department and co-ordinator of the Visual Communication Design area. He was president of Icograda (International Council of Graphic Design Associations) and director of Icograda/Education, and was active in the Graphic Design Education Association of the USA. He is a Fellow of the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada, and a member of the Editorial Boards of the Information Design Journal, Design Issues and Arcos. His publications include more than 50 papers and 9 books, amongst them several monographs (User-Centred Graphic Design: Mass Communication and Social Change, Communication Design, Designing Effective Communications). He was guest of institutions and universities in 26 countries, and professional advisor of design magazines, university programmes, and of the CSA (Canadian Standards Association). He has worked with the ISO (International Standard Organisation)
