Jonathan Brandt

I am a computer vision researcher at Adobe Systems, Inc. and a manager in Advanced Technology Labs. My current areas of research include image similarity, scene categorization, image and video retrieval, object detection and recognition, and machine learning. I received my Master's and Ph. D. in Computer Science at the University of California, Davis, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign. Prior to joining Adobe in 2003, I was at several Silicon Valley start-ups, as well as a member of the technical staff at Silicon Graphics as one of the main developers of the ImageVision image processing library. Before that, I was a visiting professor at the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in Ishikawa, Japan. My first job out of school was at the Jet Propulsion Lab, where I was an engineer on the Galileo project.
