Gorazd Urbanič

Gorazd Urbanič obtained PhD in 2004 at the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana. Since 2005 he is an Assistant Professor for Ecology. He is employed at the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana and in the Institute for Water of the RS. He works in the field of ecology of water ecosystems with the emphasis on the development of methodology for the evaluation of status of surface waters and on the response of organisms’ communities on environmental changes. He is a Slovenian representative in the European work group ECOSTAT for the implementation of Water directive and a national coordinator for the development of methodology for the evaluation of ecological status of surface waters. In the Institute for Water he participates in the group for planning water management in Slovenia.
