David Dobnik

My early research work was focused on development of a new method for detection of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) within the EU research programme on co-existence and traceability - Co-Extra. My present work includes functional analysis of different genes involved in interaction of potato and PVY (potato virus Y). The role of selected genes will be confirmed with the help of transgenic plants with altered gene expression. The course of virus infection will be followed in transgenic plants.
